The launch of ‘India in Fashion’ show at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC) was attended by a star-studded Saturday, which included Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and who’s who of cinema including Hollywood actress Zendaya, actors Tom Holland and Penelope Cruz. Various celebrities attended.
The NMACC, located at the Jio World Center in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, was inaugurated on Friday and a ‘fashion show’ began on the second day of the opening ceremony on Saturday.
Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri Khan and children Suhana and Aryan, Karan Johar, Kajol, Alia, Varun Dhawan, Ranveer Singh, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Ananya Panday, Shraddha Kapoor, Kriti Sanon from the Hindi film industry Several other stars including Sanon and veteran actress Rekha attended the event. The exhibition reflects the wide influence of traditional Indian dress, textiles and crafts in the wake of international fashion since the 18th century and includes iconic western wear and ‘ready-to-wear’ designs inspired by India from the 20th and 21st centuries.
The exhibition is billed as the first of its kind in India and will also explore emerging fashion and developments in contemporary Indian communities.
Priyanka and her husband Nick Jonas made an international appearance alongside “Spider-Man” co-stars Hollande and Zendaya, supermodel Gigi Hadid, Oscar-winning actress Penelope Cruz and musician Anoushka Shankar. Both Zendaya and Gigi chose sari as their attire for the occasion.
