Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a surprise visit to the new Parliament House on Thursday evening where he spent over an hour and inspected various works. During his surprise visit, the Prime Minister also inspected the facilities being set up in both the Houses of the Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. During this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was also with the Prime Minister. Earlier this new building was expected to be completed by November last year, now it is being speculated that the building is likely to be inaugurated soon. Let us inform that on 10 December 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament House in a program in New Delhi.

Also he is shown standing in the middle of the big hall and taking a tour of the place. The new building will have facilities like a grand Constitution Hall, a lounge for Members of Parliament, a library, several committee rooms, dining areas, ample parking space, etc. to showcase India’s democratic heritage. It will also house a new Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Cabinet Secretariat, India House and National Security Council Secretariat.
Construction going on under Central Vista Project
The central government launched the Central Vista redevelopment project in 2019, which includes the construction of a new parliament building, along with other projects in New Delhi. The area of the new parliament will be 64,500 square metres. The shape of the new complex will be triangular.
