Cases increasing continuously in UP, samples will be sent to King George Medical College

In view of the increase in the cases of Kovid-19 in some districts of Uttar Pradesh, the state government has directed all frontline workers and private and government hospitals to be vigilant and conduct genome sequencing of all samples. A spokesman of the state government gave this information on Thursday.

The spokesman said that the government has instructed all the frontline workers and private and government hospitals to be vigilant in view of the ‘partial’ increase in the cases of corona virus infection.

He informed that orders have been issued for intensive investigation in the areas where a large number of infected people are being found.

According to the spokesperson, “Uttar Pradesh has seen a marginal increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the last few days. On March 28, the number of patients under treatment in the state was 340. In such a situation, the government has issued instructions to make necessary arrangements for the management of Kovid-19, under which the samples of the infected person will be sent to King George’s Medical University, Lucknow for genome sequencing.

According to the spokesperson, “The districts most affected by Kovid-19 till March 28 are Gautam Budh Nagar (57), Ghaziabad (55), Lakhimpur Kheri (44), Lucknow (27), Bijnor (12), Lalitpur (nine). and Saharanpur (eight). These districts have been asked to monitor the situation and increase testing.

According to the spokesperson, instructions have been given to take special precautions even in the worst-affected districts in the previous waves of Covid-19. Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur and Varanasi are the districts in Uttar Pradesh which are considered more vulnerable in view of the pandemic.

The spokesman said that instructions have also been given to closely monitor the cases of Respiratory Tract Infection (RTI), Influenza Like Illness (ILI) and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) in all the districts.

According to the spokesperson, in cases related to Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI), samples have been asked to be tested for Seasonal Influenza if they test negative for Covid.
