The US has received the maximum number of applications for H-1B visas set by Congress for fiscal year 2024. The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) gave this information.

The US Congress had decided to cap the maximum number of H-1B visas at 65,000. The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to hire foreign workers.

Technology companies depend on these visas to hire thousands of employees every year from countries like India and China. USCIS said on Monday that it has received enough applications for H-1B visas for the 2024 fiscal year.

The federal agency said in a statement that applications were accepted up to the limit. Selected applicants have been informed that they can start further processing for H-1B visa.
