Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Thursday that the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan and Logistics Policy will help companies improve their competitiveness and attract investment in the country. He said that various data related to geological, ecological and infrastructure are available on the PM Gati Shakti portal.
At present, about 1,300 data are available at various levels on forests, wildlife sanctuaries, rivers, UNESCO World Heritage sites, among others. He said that the Gati Shakti Yojana would not only plug the gaps in the infrastructure sector but would also help in planning for social infrastructure like schools, nursing homes, hospitals. The minister said that it is important to achieve the target of reduction in logistics cost to make India a developed country by 2047.
He said, “PM Gati Shakti, if optimally utilised, will help bring down logistics cost significantly. All the highways, railways, ports and airports are marked on the Gati Shakti portal. This will help in creating better connectivity and create a positive impact on the logistics environment.
PM Gatishakti National Masterplan was launched on October 13, 2021. Its objective is to develop an integrated infrastructure to bring down the logistics cost.
