Corona cases have started increasing in Delhi. The maximum corona infection rate is increasing and it has crossed 9 percent. The number of active patients has also gone above 500. However, there is no need to hospitalize the corona infected, which is a matter of relief.

According to experts, even though the infection rate has increased rapidly, there is no need to panic now. However, there is a need to be cautious and careful. A mock drill was conducted on Sunday to assess the preparedness of Delhi government-run hospitals to deal with the rising cases of corona.

Corona infection rate crossed 9 percent

According to the health bulletin of Delhi Health Department dated March 26, 1,675 people were tested for corona in the last 24 hours. Out of which 153 people were found corona infected. The corona infection rate was recorded at 9.13 percent. No patient had to lose his life due to Corona. Most of the days this month, the daily cases of corona were coming less than 100. But since the last 4 to 5 days, the cases have started increasing to between 100 and 150. On March 23, 117 cases were registered and the infection rate was 4.95 percent.

The number of active patients has crossed 500

With the increase in corona cases, the number of active patients is also increasing. The number of active patients on March 23 was 346. Now the infection rate has increased to 9.13 percent and the number of active patients has increased to 523. The infection rate may be increasing rapidly, but it is a matter of relief that the number of patients admitted to the hospital is coming down. At present, 7,984 beds are reserved for Corona in Delhi hospitals. Out of these, 7,945 beds are lying vacant i.e. even half per cent of the beds are not filled.

Take care, no need to panic

Dr. Ashwin Dalmiya, President of Delhi Medical Association, says that the rapid increase in the infection rate in Delhi is worrying. But there is no need to panic now because no new variant has come yet and there is no need to hospitalize the patients. Also, there are not many corona cases yet. As a precaution, people should be stressed on adopting measures to prevent corona such as wearing masks, social distancing, use of sanitizers, avoiding going in crowds etc.
