Encouraged by the ever-increasing exports, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has now doubled its target. The state government has decided to encourage new investors and increase the scope of subsidy to increase exports.

Uttar Pradesh Government’s Industrial Development, Export Promotion, NRI and Investment Promotion Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi said that a target of at least three lakh crore rupees should be set for exports in the financial year 2023-24. He said that at least one product should be exported from every district of the state.

Reviewing the export promotion, Nandi said that in the financial year 2022-23, exports of Rs 1.56 lakh crore were made. He said that in the financial year 2023-24, the export target should be made three lakh crores. An action plan should be prepared as to how this goal can be achieved. So that exports can be increased.

Minister Nandi asked the officials to identify such products, which are different from the traditionally exported products. For this a special action plan should be worked out.

Nandi said that old exporters are doing good work, there is a need to work specially on how to connect new exporters and encourage them by informing them about the schemes. He said that new exporters should be trained so that they can export more and more.

Minister Nandi took information from the officials as to how many districts of the state are being exported from. Officials said that at present there are only about 20 to 30 districts from where exports are being made. The minister said that efforts should be made that people from each district come forward in exports and there must be some export from each district, only then the target of three lakh crore can be achieved.

Minister Nandi said that so far only about Rs 25 crore subsidy is being taken annually through various schemes of the Export Promotion Department. Which needs to be increased further. Full care should be taken that only one person does not take advantage of the subsidy.

ACS Amit Mohan Prasad said that on April 5, a capacity building program for exporters from across the state would be organized virtually through NIC. Through which exporters from across the state will be connected. So that exporters can be made aware about maximum exports. Specialist officers of different departments will give information about exports to exporters.
