The government told the Lok Sabha on Thursday that 424 projects have been taken up by February 2023 with an estimated cost of Rs 35,414 crore under the Namami Gange program and out of these 242 projects have been completed.

Minister of State for Jal Shakti Vishweshwar Tudu gave this information in a written reply to the question of Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal in the Lok Sabha. The member sought details of projects completed under the National Mission for Clean Ganga.

The Union Minister said that under the Namami Gange programme, extensive works have been initiated for the conservation of river Ganga and its tributaries through wastewater augmentation, solid waste management, river bank management, e-flow, afforestation, biodiversity conservation etc. Are.

The Minister of State for Jal Shakti said, “In this, 424 projects have been started by February 2023 with an estimated cost of Rs 35,414 crore and out of these 242 projects have been completed and commissioned. A total of 132 projects are in progress.” And 49 projects are at various stages of tender.

He said that most of the projects are related to creation of sewage infrastructure.
