PM Modi’s two-day Northeast tour begins, will attend swearing-in ceremony in three states

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today began his two-day tour of the Northeast where he will attend swearing-in ceremonies in Meghalaya, Tripura and Nagaland and also hold a closed-door meeting with members of the Assam cabinet.

Modi flew to Guwahati’s Popular Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport where he was received by Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and senior cabinet members and officials. From there he left for Shillong in a helicopter.

In Meghalaya, he will be received by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Bharatiya Janata Party National President JP Nadda. Shah and Nadda reached Meghalaya on Monday.

Modi will attend the swearing-in ceremonies of the Conrad Sangma-led government in Meghalaya and the Neiphiu Rio-led government in Nagaland.

He will return to Guwahati in the evening and hold a closed-door meeting with the members of the Assam cabinet.

The Prime Minister will leave for Agartala on Wednesday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP government headed by Manik Sarkar.

In view of the Prime Minister’s visit, the Kamrup Metropolitan Administration has declared the area of ​​the entire district as ‘No Drone Fly Zone’ on March 7 and 8.
