A US State Department official said on Tuesday that the opening of the new consulate building in Hyderabad will open doors to new possibilities in India-US relations.
Vedant Patel, deputy spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, said Hyderabad plays an important role in the bilateral strategic partnership between India and the US. The US Consulate General in Hyderabad opened its new state-of-the-art building on Tuesday.
“Simply put, this dynamic region plays an important role in the US-India strategic partnership, and our new consulate in Hyderabad reflects a solid investment by the US in the growing bilateral relationship,” Patel said at a press conference here. ”
“This step brings our government closer to American companies that have invested billions of dollars in India’s technology, defense, aerospace and pharmaceutical sectors,” he said.
Patel emphasized that Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Meta, among the world’s top companies, have their largest presence outside the US in Hyderabad.
“Our consulate in Hyderabad will play an important role in connecting businesses and people in the US and the Indian states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha,” he said.
