Islamabad police on Monday registered a case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party chief Imran Khan and 150 of his party workers in the Toshakhana case for preventing law enforcement agency officials from implementing the court order against the ousted prime minister. .
A team of Islamabad Police on Sunday arrived at the Lahore residence of ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan to arrest him in the Toshakhana case, but the team returned after being assured that he (Imran Khan) would appear in court on March 7.
Police faced stiff resistance from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers outside Khan’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore.
Khan (70) has been under attack for selling for profit other gifts, including an expensive ‘Graff’ wristwatch he received as prime minister from the Toshakhana (government treasury) at a discounted price.
According to ‘The Express Tribune’ newspaper, the case against Khan and 150 of his party workers was registered on Monday on the complaint of Race Course police station in-charge (SHO) Nadeem Tahir.
