Students from various countries, including Indians, submitted a memorandum to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, urging him to intervene and act in the matter of “unjust” cancellation of their visas due to a scam in the English exam.
In 2014 a BBC documentary revealed student visas were revoked after allegations of fraud at two UK language testing centers for international students. Following an investigation by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), the UK Home Office abruptly canceled the visas of more than 34,000 overseas students, making their overnight stay in the country illegal. Affected students, who have now lost their right to live, work and appeal in the country, are presenting a petition to Downing Street on Tuesday.
