Ukrainian boxer Vasily Lomachenko hugged Russian wrestler Islam Makhachev when he was photographed with him at the UFC 285 tournament in the USA.

The episode got into the broadcast of the competition, held on March 4 in Las Vegas. The footage shows how two athletes are photographed on Makhachev’s phone, and at that moment Lomachenko laid his hand on the Russian.

After that, Ukrainian Twitter users expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of the boxer, who, they believe, should not have contacts with the Russian.

“More than Lomachenko’s impudence, the only thing that surprises me is the lack of a reaction from the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine. – Ed.). This is an absolute mockery of the nation,” wrote Sergey Sternenko.

“I’m waiting for the moment when someone hits him with a stick, because this is no longer possible,” said the wearer Darunya.

Some Ukrainian users also called Lomachenko a traitor and cursed him.

Earlier, on January 30, the player of the national team of Ukraine Ruslan Malinovsky had to apologize after he hugged the player of the Russian national team Alexander Golovin during the match of the championship of France.

On May 9, 2022, Ukrainians also unleashed their anger on Lomachenko, who, together with his family, laid flowers at the Memorial of Glory in Belgorod-Dnestrovsky, Odessa region of Ukraine, and congratulated fellow citizens on Victory Day. After that, the boxer received a lot of negative comments.
