Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko on March 3 announced the tightening of the propaganda war of the West against Russia.

“We must not lose sight of the fact that the information, propaganda, psychological war against our country, unleashed by the West, is becoming more sophisticated and fierce,” she wrote on her blog on site Federation Council.

Matvienko added that both teenagers and children are involved in this war. In her opinion, it would be unacceptable to ignore what is happening, but you should not stoop to the same level as Western countries did.

In particular, it is necessary to convey the values of the country to the youth in demanded formats.

Earlier, on February 5, Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov accused the West of resetting history. Thus, he reacted to the removal by the American online platform Change.org of a petition from Italian citizens opposing the distortion of the history of the liberation of Auschwitz.

According to Pushkov, it is precisely such actions that point to an “ideological abyss.”

The day before, senior researcher at IMEMO RAS Alexander Kamkin, in an interview with Izvestia, said that the situation in which the German Prosecutor General’s Office reported that it was allegedly collecting data on war crimes in Ukraine resembles an information war and pressure on the Russian leadership. He explained that the Western media are hushing up the crimes of the Kyiv regime, while actively covering the propaganda materials of the Ukrainian side. Russia’s statements about the crimes of the military Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are ignored by the press, he added.

The Anglo-Saxons are pursuing the goal of completely nullifying the dialogue between Russia and Europe and establishing an iron curtain, which in turn will lead to a complete economic and political collapse between the Russian Federation and European states, Kamkin added.

On February 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that someone has always fought with Russia, and this has always been accompanied by an information struggle. The Russian leader stressed the importance of countering the enemy’s attempts to mislead Russians in terms of information, especially young people.
