UN: Since the beginning of the special operation, more than 8.1 million refugees from Ukraine have arrived in Europe

March 1 – BLiTZ. Since the start of the special operation in Ukraine, at least 8.1 million Ukrainian refugees have arrived in European countries, mainly in the EU countries, analysts from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) report. It is reported by TASS.

The total number of Ukrainian refugees in Europe was named and amounted to 8,104,606. During the week, another 16,654 people arrived in Europe. From February 24, 2022 to February 28, 2023, the largest number of refugees came to Europe – 2,852,395 people. In the first place is Poland – there are now 1,563,386 refugees, Germany has received 1,055,323 refugees.

The Czech Republic now has 494,793 refugees, Italy has 171,739 refugees, Spain currently has 168,654 refugees, the UK has taken in 163,500 refugees and Bulgaria has taken in 153,170 refugees. Also countries that have received many refugees are France (118,994 refugees), Romania (the country has received 117,028 refugees), Slovakia (there have received 110,444 people at the moment) and Moldova (109,348 Ukrainian refugees have been accepted there).
