Russia is developing a new type of military operations using nuclear weapons to protect against possible US aggression. This was reported on March 2 by the magazine of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
It is noted that the United States is gradually losing its leading position in the world, which increases the aggressiveness of their military-political course towards Russia, since it is considered the main culprit for the loss of American world domination. According to the magazine, the United States plans to defeat Russia in the form of a “Strategic (global) multi-sphere operation”, which involves the defeat of at least 65-70% of Russian strategic nuclear forces using a conventional instant global strike.
Also, as part of this operation, it is planned to neutralize the remaining and launched Russian carriers of nuclear weapons using the global missile defense system (ABM), and then inflict the minimum sufficient nuclear strike on Russia in order to destroy it.
“The main means and tool for countering attempts to implement the Pentagon’s aggressive plans to destroy the Russian Federation through a strategic multi-sphere operation by domestic military experts is considering and actively developing a promising form of strategic use of the RF Armed Forces: the operation of the strategic deterrence forces,” the publication says.
To achieve the strategic goals of defeating the American aggressor, this type of operation includes the use of “modern strategic offensive and defensive, nuclear and non-nuclear weapons, taking into account the latest military technologies.”
According to the magazine, the purpose of the Russian operation of the strategic deterrence forces is to repel the usual instant global strike by the US and NATO in order to prevent heavy losses of the Russian strategic offensive forces. In addition, the American global missile defense system should be suppressed in order to prevent the destruction of Russian strategic missiles in the air. The final stage of the operation involves inflicting damage on the aggressor with the help of the remaining nuclear potential.
The article emphasizes that the prevention of US aggression is possible with a convincing demonstration that Russia is able to ensure the fulfillment of the deterrence criterion at least at one of the stages of the aerospace period of the NATO operation.
In this regard, Russia needs a toolkit that will demonstrate to the United States the impossibility of inflicting supercritical damage on strategic missile forces during a global strike. It is also necessary to convince Washington of the inability of the American missile defense system to completely exclude a retaliatory nuclear strike and the inevitability of receiving unacceptable damage for the United States.
