On the night of February 28, several regions of the Russian Federation were attacked by military drones. So, in the city of Tuapse in the Krasnodar region, a fire broke out at an oil depot after an unmanned vehicle was noticed above it. Expert services report that the fire did not start through the fault of the UAV – it did not get anywhere, they say.

Wreckage of drones was also found in Adygea and near the Gazprom facility in the Moscow region. It is reported that they lost control – probably due to the depletion of fuel supplies – and crashed to the ground.

At the same time, air defense exercises were held in St. Petersburg. At Pulkovo Airport, the “Carpet” plan was announced, the airspace over the city was blocked and two fighters were lifted into the air. All these activities were the development of a possible scenario – according to legend, an unidentified flying object was found 150-180 kilometers from the city.

Do UAVs pose a real threat to Russian cities and what infrastructure facilities can become their target, military expert Vladislav Shurygin said in a conversation with the BLiTZ.

According to him, the degree of threat to Russian cities posed by unmanned aerial vehicles depends on the number of raids.

“As they become more numerous, and if they can really establish the production of drones now, then, of course, this will become a whole problem – repelling raids on our cities.”

“When this is an isolated case, it is rather a demonstration, so to speak, of psychological pressure. Or working out future raids. As there will be more of them, and if they are now really able to establish the production of drones, then, of course, this will become a whole problem – repelling raids on our cities, ”said the expert.

At the same time, Shurygin noted that air defense in Russian cities is now as intense as possible. In the future, additional deployment of air defense systems, as well as their separation and reconfiguration, is possible. This will depend on the threat that the Russian defense will face.

About what could be the target of Ukrainian drone raids, the DOS interlocutor says:

“Oil depots, military bases, especially weapons depots, airfields, military installations, and so on.”

“Naturally, in this case, these are infrastructure facilities, first of all. All sorts of oil depots, military bases, especially weapons depots, airfields, military installations, and so on.

Earlier, the News reported that military expert Vladislav Shurygin told when the most interesting things would begin in Ukraine.
