February 28 – BLiTZ. Against the backdrop of Chinese confrontation and incessant provocations from American politicians, Taiwan decided to strengthen its protection from the sea. This is reported by the Taiwanese media.
The Taiwanese Navy plans to increase the number of Tuo Chiang-class combat corvettes to ten by 2026, with a second batch of ships to be equipped with eight Hsiung Feng III and four Hsiung Feng II.
Also, the Ministry of National Defense of the country plans to start creating a fleet of eight light frigates. The light frigates will carry out reconnaissance and patrol missions in the Taiwan Strait area, control the invulnerability of sea lanes, and protect Taiwan’s fishing rights.
