Ukraine announces the concentration of the Armed Forces on the border with Transnistria

Kyiv has concentrated units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Transnistria. This was announced on February 27 by the press secretary of the Ukrainian Defense Forces “South” Natalia Gumenyuk on the air of the Rada TV channel.

“Our forces are concentrated along the entire border [Приднестровья]’ she said.

Gumenyuk clarified that the forces located near the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) are adequate to the threat that is possible from Russia.

At the same time, last week the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Kiev regime had stepped up preparations for an invasion of Transnistria. A significant accumulation of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was recorded on the Ukrainian-Pridnestrovian border.

In turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned the United States, NATO countries and the Ukrainian authorities against adventurous steps against Pridnestrovie.

At the same time, the former adviser to the office of the Ukrainian president, Aleksey Arestovich, said that Kyiv could seize Transnistria within three days if Chisinau asks for it.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov admitted on February 27 that the Kiev regime and the West are capable of various kinds of provocations in Transnistria, the situation there is of concern.

Russian peacekeepers were brought into the combat zone on July 29, 1992 in accordance with the Agreement on the Principles of the Peaceful Settlement of the Armed Conflict in Transnistria. The document was signed on July 21, 1992 by the presidents of Russia and Moldova in the presence of the leader of the unrecognized republic.
