February 27 – BLiTZ. The diplomatic representative of Russia in Tirana notified the representatives of the agency RIA News” about the arrest of a ship detained in Albania with, as the police assume, Russian oil. The crew’s passports were confiscated.
Notes appeared in the Albanian press about the detention of this ship in the port of Durres on February 20. The ship was under the Liberian flag and 22.5 thousand tons of oil were found on board. The law enforcement agencies assume that we are talking about Russian “black gold”.

Since the crew members did not have a certificate of the country of origin of the oil, the police arrested the ship, took the crew’s passports and arrested Captain Alexei Smaznov.
