Shahidur Rahman Tepa said, “In recent times, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has made a deep conspiracy against Bangladesh by spending millions of dollars in trying to impose sanctions by the United States and the United Kingdom against the country’s police force, civil-military officials.
In this month of victory, their mischiefs and wrongdoings prove that BNP is actually the domestic agent of the Pakistani occupation forces. After committing such a heinous act, the BNP has no right to do politics anymore in Bangladesh. There should be investigation into BNP’s anti-state activities and how this party is spending lavishly in foreign countries and where from they are receiving such funds
Shahidur Rahman Tepa further said, “Huge development and progress have been achieved in Bangladesh under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It would be wrong to deny it. However, along with the development, there has been a terrible spread of corruption in the country. I think the government should start a tough action against corruption. In addition to confiscation of assets acquired by corrupt individuals who had smuggled-out huge amounts of money abroad, politicians who are involved in corruption should be declared ineligible for politics”.
Regarding the resignation of seven parliamentarians of BNP, Shahidur Rahman Tapa said, “They have staged political stunts after enjoying all the benefits as well as receiving salaries and allowances as parliamentarians for four years. Now the government needs to investigate if they have amassed additional wealth during the past four years and publish a White Paper with all of such information. Nation deserves to know everything”.
