Despite the fact that the elections in the United States been labelled as “rigged” by both the mainstream parties – Democratic Party and republican Party, US ambassador in Bangladesh, Peter Haas is continuing extremely partisan role in favor of pro-Islamist Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and pro-sharia Jamaat-e-Islami, while he also is holding secret meetings with various leaders of military dictator General Hussain Muhammed Ershad’s Jatiya Party and other Islamist-leftist political forces. By doing so Ambassador Peter Haas is indirectly playing nefarious role in pushing Bangladesh towards political confrontation, despite the fact of his appointee Joe Biden and his party are already heading towards extreme difficulty and political jeopardy. What Ambassador Haas is doing is a clear violation of the Vienna Convention.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of ruling Awami League and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has urged foreign diplomats in Bangladesh to refrain from making unwanted comments on the internal affairs of the country.
“Ambassador of the embassy talks so deep! Don’t ruin the friendship. We want friendship. There was a deep pain in the past like ’75, ’71. Still we want friendship. If you do this, the friendship will crack. None will get benefits from that”, he said.
The AL general secretary said the face of the United States and the situation of democracy were witnessed on January 6, adding, “One party did not accept their elections and results. There were allegations of false practice. Election fraud is not only described in Bangladesh, but also such words are being used in America. At that time, five people died”.
“Congress was affected. We saw how Nancy Pelosi was hiding”. he added.
Quader said, “Why are you saying these things unnecessarily? Daily mass shoot (indiscriminate firing) took place at least twice a week. Five, 10 people died in each shoot and19 children also died in a mass shoot. You talk about human rights!”
Mentioning that police did not ensure security on time, he said, “You people talked about courts of Bangladesh!”
“What are taking place there? Let everyone see their appearance first”, Quader said.
In my opinion, the minister is absolutely correct!
Joe Biden’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Peter Haas is extending support to war criminal Jamaat-e-Islami and pro-militancy Bangladesh Nationalist Party with the nefarious agenda of pushing Bangladesh towards anarchism, arson attacks and terrorist acts. We are aware of the fact that the US did not support the war of independence of Bangladesh, while it had made frantic bids in making Pakistani occupation forces victorious over Bengali freedom fighters. We certainly can call the United States the friends of enemies of this country. Peter Haas is also extending support to BNP, a party that considers Lebanese Hezbollah as its greatest allies. Bangladesh Nationalist Party also strongly defends pro-Caliphate Hefazat-e-Islami as well as militancy outfits such as Ansar Al Islam, local franchise of Al Qaeda.
Well, ambassador Peter Haas is expected to be favoring criminals and culprits as his employer, President Joe Biden has always been accused of indulging in massive corruption and crimes.
