Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who also is known as Bibi is one of the most popular and influential world leaders. He also is considered as a statesman with rarest qualities. Today once again, people of the Jewish State have bestowed their absolute confidence in him by re-electing for the fifth consecutive term. On behalf of the editorial board of Blitz, we are conveying warmest congratulations to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanhayu and the members of Likud Party. One of the key reasons behind Netanyahu’s victory is – he clearly is a visionary leader. With this victory, Mr. Netanyahu surpassed Israel’s founder David Ben Gurion as the longest serving Prime Minister of the country. The election was a tight race, with Blue and White winning formidable number of seats in the Knesset.

Commenting on Prime Minister Netanyahu and the election, Shmuel Rosner, contributing writer of the New York Times wrote, “Given Mr. Netanyahu’s unsavory qualities, many people were intent on defeating him. Just a few months ahead of the election, Blue and White, a new centrist alliance led by three decorated generals and a former security minister, came together with little purpose other than to present an alternative to Mr. Netanyahu, who has been in power since 2009. They campaigned fiercely — but civilly. At rallies, General Benny Gantz, the head of Blue and White, made it a habit to thank the prime minister for his service to the nation; this was a mirror image of Mr. Netanyahu’s and Likud’s name-calling and personal attacks. But civility and centrism weren’t enough to carry the day”.

One of the most important points here is unlike many of the Asian and African leaders; Benjamin Netanyahu does not rig or manipulate the election. He always has won the election through very tight race. One of the most important aspects of Netanyahu’s necessity of leading the Jewish State is the country’s national security. Netanyahu has succeeded in proving to be one of the toughest leaders who would uphold Israel’s interest and national security at every cost. In mid-1990s, during the first term of Benjamin Netanyahu as the Prime Minister of Israel, he had rejected the assumptions underlying the peace process with the Palestinians. Although at that time, such decisions were considering a “daringly right wing”, today this very decision is considered as common sense by most of the Israelis, including his political rivals. Benjamin Netanyahu is one of the first leaders who had exposed Iran as the main threat to Israel and fought vigorously in international forums in getting world’s attention to this key issue. After many years, today this also has become a popular opinion amongst the Israel politicians.

When President Barack Obama consistently tried to put pressure on Israel in giving concession to his Palestinian darlings, it was Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who has very effectively resisted such moves. Obama’s biased foreign policy towards Palestinians had also been echoed by his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. But, nothing could succeed as the Jewish State was blessed with a leader like Bejamin Netanyahu.

Israelis are also grateful to Prime Minister Netanyahu for his effective diplomacy in forging a strong alliance with US President Donald Trump and finally succeeding in moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Furthermore, President Trump had withdrawn from the nuclear agreement with terror-patron Iran, recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights and designated Iran’s notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as terrorist organization.

While congratulating Benjamin Netanyahu, we would like to hope, during his fifth term, the most dynamic Israeli Prime Minister will take necessary steps in crashing mega-terrorist outfit Hamas as well will convince President Donald Trump in putting extreme pressure on those countries which are yet to recognize the Jewish State.

We would also like to congratulate the people of Israel for re-electing Prime Minister Netanyahu.
