The woman gave birth to a child in the running Saptakranti Express train between Narkatiaganj- Bettiah station of Samastipur division of East Central Railway. Safe delivery was done with the help of railway personnel and female co-travellers. Both mother and child are healthy.

Mother and child sent home by ambulance after investigation

The railway administration showed a lot of promptness in getting the woman delivered. On the information received from the control room, as soon as the Saptakranti Express reached Bapudham Motihari station, medical facilities were provided to the mother and child under the supervision of Station Superintendent Dilip Kumar Singh. Immediately, with the help of railway hospital workers and Red Cross volunteers, both mother and child were taken to Sadar Hospital for better treatment. The medical team at the hospital examined the health of the mother and child. After treatment of both, they were sent by ambulance from the hospital to their home in Aurai in Muzaffarpur district.

Woman gave birth to a baby girl while reaching Chanpatia station

According to the information, Sunil Kumar and his wife Kajal Kumari, resident of Bhaddai village of Aurai block of Muzaffarpur district, were going to their home by Down Saptakranti Express going from Delhi’s Anand Bihar Terminal to Muzaffarpur. During this time the train had left UP and entered Bihar. Kajal, who was traveling in the general bogie next to the guard’s bogie of the train, started having labor pains near Bagaha station. While the train reached Chanpatia station, Kajal gave birth to a child. Passengers in the train started jumping with joy as soon as the child’s cry echoed.
