Middle East peace is still for the dreamers as it is a delusion

As at the time of writing Hamas are considering a peace proposal put forward by the Trump Administration, Egypt and Qatar, to which the Israeli government have agreed. Naturally there are dissenting voices within Israel’s government who may yet scupper this ‘agreement’ because i the annihilation of Hamas, has not been achieved.
We have been here several times before and even if this current proposal holds, long term peace between Israel and Palestinians is simply a delusion. There are too many influential, politically and ideologically motivated bad actors willing to and hoping for the conflict to continue. Among those most motivated to ensure conflict continuity are the United Nations ( or The Theatre of the Absurd ) and their satellite NGO’s , the global Islamist fanatics , global charities , mainstream media , academics , performing artists , cultural personalities and those protesting who need a cause to feed their insatiable appetite for hatred and chaos – currently the collective absurdly referred to as the ‘progressive left’. Without demonization of Israel they have no cause and more importantly their financial position would be badly impacted. Just think of the millionaires, indeed billionaires have been created within the Palestinian leadership and how many UN bureaucrats would see their huge income streams disappear.
The fanatical Zionist settlers too may not be willing to allow peace until their objectives of a greater Israel are achieved but I tend to believe that this minority can be persuaded whereas I have no such sentiments on those identified above.
My logic for expressing such a depressing scenario is based on historical and statistical evidence that verifies the inability of humanity to morph into anything other than dystopian values.
Since time immemorial the Jewish people have been victims of greater powers which have unsuccessfully attempted to eradicate them and there is no need to elaborate on previous historical conflicts. The facts are that the Jewish people have survived and thrived despite the pain and suffering whilst the perpetrators became extinct. Those are the facts and each one of us, depending on our own beliefs, values, ideology and circumstances will analyze why Jews have remained in existence against all the odds. Human nature as evidenced by historical events does not allow the Jewish people to live in peace for elongated periods. Moreover, other conflicts, some far more statistically brutal, both past and current for do not create similar levels of attention, passion, emotional outrage, bigotry, hate, prejudice and spiteful propaganda as the Israeli (read Jewish), Palestinian conflict. Let’s analyze just a few recent examples and I’ll let you ponder as to why those nations, organizations or individuals allow saturation coverage and concentration on one conflict and ignore the others.
Since 1998 the peoples of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and the Central African Republic have been victims of war that has claimed the deaths of just over 6 million, 11 million injured and 15 million ethnically cleansed from their lands. Without checking, how many of you reading this article knew this or if you did can any of you name the tribes at war, the leading political figures of any of these nations or the reasons why such events have occurred? Can any of you remember a BBC news broadcast or current affairs program where this has been discussed? In terms of human suffering this conflict dwarfs the Israeli Palestinian issue by a multiple of over 100 to 1 by any statistical measurement.
Similar measurements in human suffering can be applied to the Turkish conflict with the Kurds; the Saudi – Yemeni war; Assad’s barbarism; the ethnic cleansing of Afghans from both Pakistan and Iran; the slaughter of Christians in Nigeria; the atrocities committed by Islamists on tribespeople in Somalia, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Burkina Faso and Mozambique are all totally ignored. Why? Why? Why? Make no mistake the answer is Jews, Jews, Jews, Israelis nor Zionists are included as one of the conflicting parties.
One would have thought that after apartheid in South Africa, the UN, black celebrities, black politicians, the progressive left and the anti-apartheid mob would have concerned themselves with a conflict just north from South Africa in which on average 200,000 plus people, black Africans, have been killed each year for last 27 years . You would have thought that wouldn’t you. But ask yourself why the lack of interest from those who should be interested, concerned and involved. It is illogical other than to understand the depravity of human nature and the excremental depths those seeking to harm Jews wallow in to achieve their objectives. No Jews involved and therefore no news to report.
Palestinians are not loved. Jews are hated. Someone more intellectually competent than I could theorize on why this should be. If one accepts this unpalatable truth one can at least be weaponized in order to challenge those who are solely interested in maintaining the status quo.
There is as I see it one strand of light shining through the darkness and that is the remarkable initiative of Donald Trump, the Abraham Accords.
Political pragmatism has empowered Sunni Arab countries to assist Israel in their war with Iran and Iranian proxies. More importantly those countries are ensuring that antisemitism for years embedded within their education curriculum is rapidly being phased out. Perversely we have witnessed the reverse in the Republic of Ireland and within certain boroughs in the UK where both anti Zionism and antisemitism are being taught to children as is the mocking of Judaea-Christian values.
Middle East peace will never be achieved when generations of children are indoctrinated with hate as the Palestinians have been. Their two charters, the Palestinian National Council Charter of 1968 and the Hamas Charter of 1988, taught in UNRWA funded schools command by Jihad the extermination of Jews. I ask you what chance for a prolonged peace whilst the UN and the organization embedded to assist Palestinians are continuously funded to ensure the conditions for conflict are encouraged for future generations.
