Pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ+, pro-anarchist Marxist and Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is commonly known as ‘AOC’ has been identified to have removed her pronounce from ‘X’ account description.
It may be mentioned here that the 35-year-old former bartender is widely considered as being among the leaders of the ultra-left wing of the Democratic Party. Previously ‘genderless’ AOC had apologized to followers for not including pronouns on social media account, stating that the descriptors “fell off” without realizing it.
But Donald Trump’s landslide victory and Republican Party’s gaining majority in the Senate and Congress has tremendously shocked Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex and plenty of supporters of Kamala Harris and the party. Following announcement of election results, many have noticed that Ocasio-Cortez no longer had her ‘she/her’ pronouns listed in the X bio description. Others have also noted that she appears to have changed her moniker from the genderless ‘Representative’ to ‘Congresswoman’.
According to journalist Benjamin Ryan, Ocasio-Cortez appears to have changed her descriptions on social media sometime between August 3, 2023, and late May of this year.
Conservative pundits have now accused the progressive Democrat of hypocrisy and only pretending to embrace woke gender trends.
Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, an avid critic of Ocasio-Cortez, has demanded that she explain her decision after “shoving gender lies and insane ideology down people’s throat for years”.
Former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines has also blasted the Democrat, writing on social media that politicians such as Ocasio-Cortez will “pretend they never embraced (or even celebrated) the insanity”.
Gaines has been an outspoken critic of trans athletes being included in women’s sports and has repeatedly singled out Ocasio-Cortez for her positions on such issues.
“We are winning and its glorious”, Gaines wrote, as many Trump supporters have hailed the Republican candidate’s election victory as a sign of the end for the era of ‘woke’ pandering.
Conservative commentator Paul Szypula has also suggested that Ocasio-Cortez’s removal of her pronouns from her description was tied to the “massive exodus from the Democratic Party by Hispanic voters”, many of who have “conservative values and are not thrilled with gender ideology”.
Meanwhile, Ocasio-Cortez, who has yet to respond to the backlash, was re-elected last week to serve a fourth term in Congress.
