Following meeting between Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, although Dhaka in its statement said, Bangladesh PM has called upon all concerned to find ways to stop Russia-Ukraine war whereas Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud told reporters, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina always says we are against all kinds of war and discussed time and again about how the war can be stopped while holding talks with Zelensky”, Ukrainian president’s office in its statement has clearly made attempts of creating confusion.

The Ukrainian side in its press statement said:

In Munich, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a meeting with Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina.

The Head of State thanked the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, particularly within the UN, and emphasized the importance of Bangladesh’s support for Ukrainian initiatives.

Volodymyr Zelensky told the Prime Minister about Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression, the situation on the battlefield and the Ukrainian vision of a just peace based on the Ukrainian Peace Formula. The President invited the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to join the implementation of the Formula and take part in the inaugural Global Peace Summit.

Separately, the Head of State informed his interlocutor about Ukraine’s efforts to create an alternative “grain corridor” in the Black Sea and prevent Russia’s attempts to undermine peaceful navigation in the Black Sea region.

The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh also discussed the prospects of establishing cooperation in trade and economic sphere, in particular, the supply of Ukrainian agricultural products to this country.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) – the state news agency of the country published a report which termed Kremlin and Russian authorities as “killers” of Russian blogger Alexei Navalny.

The entire report, which is clearly is a propaganda material catered by French news agency AFP, which has been harshly critical of Bangladesh and been openly biased towards Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and anti-Awami League as well as anti-India forces – contains offensive remarks targeting Russian President Vladimir Putin.
