Spanish teens dress as sex workers in LGBTQ-themed carnival

The West is on a destructive path, and the latest news out of Spain regarding the outrage over teen girls dressed as prostitutes in a carnival performance comes as no surprise. Woke activism has managed to normalize the obscene: eg. underage kids provided with puberty blockers and mutilated, perverted men claiming to identify as women allowed in girls’ change-rooms at swimming pools, drag queen library reading time for preschool children, and references to pedophiles as “minor attracted persons” – that is how eminent journalist Christine Douglass Williams reacts to a recent carnival that took place in the Spanish city of Torrevieja.

The West has not even begun to reap what it is sowing in the young. One can only hope that there will come a point of significant pushback before it’s too late.

According to Breitbart, a carnival in the Spanish city of Torrevieja has been accused of promoting pedophilia and sexualizing children as a group of young girls were dressed up like “prostitutes” while carrying LGBT rainbow flags.

Footage that has emerged from an LGBT-themed performance “Grand Carnival Parade” from last Monday in the city of Torrevieja in southern Spain has sparked heavy criticism throughout the country and internationally over the Osadía dancing troupe dressing young girls in high heels, stockings, nipple covers and rainbow flags.

According to the El Español newspaper, social media comments from Spanish users criticized the performance over the “sexualization” of children, while others raised questions such as: “What pedophile set this up?” and “Do those girls have no parents?”. Meanwhile, the Catholic news outlet InfoVaticana characterized the scantily clad outfits worn by the young girls as being similar to those worn by “prostitutes”.

The Spanish Christian Lawyers Foundation announced that they are preparing to take legal action against the parade [pictured above, adult performers from the 2023 season], while accusing the local city council, run by the supposedly center-right People’s Party, of allowing similar “atrocities” for years.

Poland Castellanos, the president of the Spanish Christian Lawyers Foundation, said: “It is reprehensible and falls into the category of corruption of minors. We hope that justice will act so that the innocence of children is not lost or used in this way”.

According to EuroNews, Spain is one of Europe’s biggest markets for prostitution while in 2022, the country introduced a new draft law aimed at cracking down on prostitution.

The proposed legislation was supposed to be made to punish those who financially exploit prostitutes, pay for their services, or knowingly provide premises for the practice of prostitution.

Under the law, citizens would be fined if they paid for prostitutes, while pimps or procurers would face prison terms of between three and six years. Clients could also face jail sentences if the prostitute is a minor.

Reuters in a report said, the legislation was passed which proposed abolishing prostitution in the country and cracking down further on pimping and introducing tougher penalties for men buying sex in a controversial initiative that has split the women’s rights movement.

Spain – the brothel of Europe

According to a website, paid sex in Spain has remained in legal limbo until the recent proposal of the Comprehensive Law Against Trafficking, proposed by the governing Socialist Party of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

In 1995, prostitution was depanelized as a voluntary activity, leading to an unregulated and very successful establishment of the sex industry since then. In fact, not only is Spain the European country with the highest demand for sex, but is also third internationally. This lack of a jurisdictional model has been criticized by different actors for its lack of a comprehensive approach towards sex workers and the facility it offers to mafias to coerce and exploit victims into the industry. Although the new proposal aims to solve this limbo and social stigma, it is uncertain whether this is the right approach.

The high demand of paid sex goes hand in hand with a wide acceptance of its consumption. Indeed, prostitution in Spain is a very successful business that is no longer associated with one category of customers. Currently, 18-19-year-old teenagers on a night out, to all-men business meetings can comfortably end their night in a brothel. Unsurprisingly, to cope with the voluminous demand, there is an estimated 300,000 sex workers in Spain. In 2010, the United Nations estimated that 39 percent of men in Spain had paid for sex during their lives, an atypical amount compared to other EU countries. What’s more, it is exorbitantly profitable.

As of 2016, the UN estimated Spain’s sex industry was worth €3.7 billion. However, the attractiveness of the industry is not limited to nationals, it has also opened the door to “sex tourism”. For instance, the biggest brothel in Spain “Club Paradise” is found in La Jonquera, located at the border with France, which opens the door to a bigger clientele.
