For the convenience of the large population of the capital Patna, a DPR is being prepared for the construction of a six-lane elevated road (NH) of about seven km length from Nathupur to AIIMS. Its estimated cost is around Rs 1800 crore and land has been acquired for this road. Its construction is likely to start by the end of this year or in the first quarter of the new year 2024. It may take about 36 months to make it. Along with this, there is a plan to connect the under-construction Patna-Gaya-Dobhi road with Saristabad-Nathupur. In such a situation, trains coming from AIIMS to Natthupura elevated or Didarganj to Anisabad will be able to go via Patna-Gaya-Dobhi.

Jam continues from Anisabad turn to Patna AIIMS

Presently, from Anisabad Mor to Patna AIIMS, there is traffic jam throughout the day with trucks, buses and other vehicles. With the construction of an elevated road parallel to the Patna Junction-Danapur railway line on the south side of this road, the large population of those areas will get freedom from traffic jam. From under the elevated road, the local people will be able to walk on the present fairlane road.

Many areas will get connectivity

The connectivity of this road will be from Chitkohra Mod, Patna Bypass, Jagdev Path – Phulwari Road, Danapur Station Road, Digha – AIIMS Elevated Road, Naubatpur Road. On the other hand, big trains going towards Koilwar bridge and Paliganj-Bikram from Bakhtiyarpur side will get the facility to go uphill. This will improve the traffic system of the road and save a lot of time of the people.

Later Anisabad – Didarganj will have connectivity

Along with this, there is also a proposal to construct an elevated road (NH) of about 13 km length from Anisabad to Didarganj. If both these elevated roads will be built in about 20 km length, then a new option will be available for the connectivity of North and South Bihar. Also, the trains coming from North Bihar via JP Setu will pass through Digha-AIIMS, AIIMS-Nathupur and Anisabad-Didarganj without entering Patna city.

Mithapur-Mahuli elevated road will be connected with four lane till Punpun

Here, the elevated road being constructed between Mithapur to Ramgovind Singh Halt (Mahuli) on the southern side of Patna-Gaya rail line will also be connected till Punpun. After the landing of the elevated road at Mahuli, four-lane will be made 2.1 km ahead till Punpun. Along with this, work will be done to connect Mithapur to Sipara by constructing an elevated road of about 2 km on the Mithapur side. With its construction, there will be a lot of convenience for the people to travel from Mithapur to Punpun in South Patna. After the approval of Rs 457 crore from the cabinet for this work, now the process of construction work will start. According to experts, construction will start from October after completing all the procedures. The tender process will start at the end of this month. The work was interrupted for waiting for administrative approval regarding the construction of elevated road between Mithapur to Sipara.

Sipara to Mithapur will be connected by elevated road

Work will be done to connect Sipara to Mithapur by constructing a 2.1 km elevated road. Earlier there was a plan to join the road from below near Sipara to Mithapur. But later it was decided to construct an elevated road in the Revise project. The elevated road from Sipara will come from the side of Krishi Bhawan and connect to Mithapur flyover.

Will increase convenience for people

Apart from the 437 crore approved by the cabinet, four-lane between Mahuli and Punpun, ROB near Sipara, road between Bhupatipur and Sipara will be constructed. By connecting Mahuli to Punpun with fourlane, the convenience of traffic will increase. People from India and abroad also reach Punpun Ghat for Pitra Tarpan. With the construction of forelane, they will be comfortable in commuting.
