Navy’s quiz ‘G-20 Think’ becomes international, final will be held at India Gate on 22 November

New Delhi, 21 July (Hindustan Times). The Indian Navy has launched the second edition of ‘G-20 Think’, which has now gone from national to international, with the finals being held at India Gate on 22 November. Invited guests from 9 G-20 countries will participate in this international round. Earlier, more than 10,000 schools from all parts of the country have participated in the National Round, which will be held at the Gateway of India, Mumbai on November 18.

Indian Navy’s International Quiz ‘G-20 Think’ is being organized under the aegis of G-20 Secretariat, Indian Navy and Naval Welfare and Well-being Association. The quiz is conceptualized as a national and international competition, which brings together youth from different walks of life and geographies and enables them to build lasting friendships in the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. This competition is for school children of classes 9 to 12. Registration for the contest closes on July 31.

Last year, 6425 schools from across the country had participated in the national level ‘Think-22’ competition, after the success of which this year the competition has been taken to the international level. The national round has seen the participation of more than 10,000 schools from all parts of the country. After several online rounds, sixteen schools will be selected for the semi-finals to be held in Mumbai on 16 November. The top eight teams will then compete for the national crown at the finals to be held at the Gateway of India in Mumbai on 18 November.

The Indian team for the international round will consist of two main quizzers and one standby, who will be selected by an eminent jury. All the sixteen semi-finalist teams will also get an opportunity to visit the Naval Dockyard and interact with naval personnel onboard ships, submarines. The international round will feature invited members from nine G-20 countries, with each country nominating a team of two students from grades 9 to 12. The questions will be set in English conforming to international standards. International teams will be selected on November 22 at India Gate, Delhi to participate in the international final competition after due process.
