New Delhi, 20 July (Hindustan Times). Condemning the incident with women in Manipur, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravi Shankar Prasad has questioned the timing of its going viral. In a press conference held at the BJP headquarters, Ravi Shankar Prasad alleged that the Congress party has set a pattern. Bringing something before every House, then not allowing debate, then running away from the debate and then alleging that the Narendra Modi government does not want to debate. It is necessary to tell this pattern to the country.

He alleged that the Congress does not want to allow the House to function. It is clear that Congress is doing politics regarding Manipur. The Congress party is running away from the debate. He said that Congress does not want to debate on this, only wants to make allegations. What happened in Manipur is shameful and unfortunate. The state government is taking strict action against the accused of this incident. He said that if there was a discussion in the House, a constructive and meaningful message would have been sent to the entire country including Manipur, but the Congress wants to satisfy its ego.

He said that it is a matter of great pain that today when Piyush Goyal in the Rajya Sabha and Prahlad Joshi in the Lok Sabha had clearly said that we are ready to discuss Manipur, then the Congress party and the opposition are debating on which clause should be discussed. The incident of Manipur is not necessary for the opposition, the clause is necessary.
