Two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), which were lowered on the shaft built about 16 meters below the ground level in the Moinul Haq Stadium complex for the excavation of Patna Metro’s tunnel, are now gaining momentum. After being put on the shaft on April 7, the TBM has traveled about 20 meters till Thursday. Out of which, in the first 30 days, TBM had traveled only three meters. DMRC officials told that along with tunneling, the work of lining is also going on simultaneously. According to officials, the TBM will complete its journey of 1494 meters from the stadium to the university in five months.
Underground metro also between Patna Junction and Rukanpura
On the other hand, the second underground metro line of Patna will be between Patna Junction and Rukanpura. The construction of which is expected to start in July. Soon the agency will be selected through tender and soil testing will be done. After this, the work of making tunnel with Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) will be started here too.
Interchange Station Near Patna Junction
The underground metro station to be built near Patna Junction will be the first underground metro station of Corridor-2. This is the interchange point of Corridor-1 and 2. Here the facility of changing metro for other places will be available. The station will have multi-modal integration with various modes of transport, i.e. various public transport/transport modes and various other modes will be interconnected, which will facilitate seamless travel for passengers. At the same time, the second interchange station of Patna Metro will be built in Khemnichak.

Underground metro stations will be built in Patna Junction, Vidyut Bhawan, Vikas Bhawan, Zoo, Rajabazar, Rukanpura in Corridor 1 of Patna Metro. On the other hand, Corridor 2 will have underground stations at Patna Junction, Akashvani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Patna University, Moinul Haque Stadium and Rajendranagar.
