Chaniya Devi died on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Patna. On May 8, Chania Devi was bitten and injured by a dog in Ward No. 18’s Nai Bazar Mishra Toli. Along with Chaniya Devi, the dog had bitten and bled two more people, who are being treated at a private hospital in the city. Chaniya Devi was admitted to SKMCH after infection spread in her leg. The doctors had referred him to Patna for better treatment.

The deceased was a resident of Pakki Sarai. Councilor’s husband Dheeraj Kumar told that the complete details of the incident have been given to the Municipal Commissioner. The menace of stray dogs is all over the city. Municipal Corporation needs to take strict steps. Within ten days, many people in his ward have been bitten and injured by stray dogs. Local people say that there is no system to control stray dogs in the city. In such a situation, people keep falling prey to them. Children and the elderly are facing the most trouble due to this.

As a result, every day dozens of people living in different areas of the city are being bitten and injured by dogs. The most scared of this are the school children.
