New Delhi, May 19 (Hindustan Times). The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has achieved another milestone by laying 100 km of new expressways within 100 hours. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari made this announcement today while sharing pictures of the new expressway under construction.

In a remarkable achievement, the Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway in Uttar Pradesh has laid bituminous concrete covering 100 lane kilometers in an unprecedented time of 100 hours. Gadkari said that this achievement highlights the dedication and ingenuity of India’s road infrastructure industry.

Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari congratulated the teams of Cube Highways, L&T, and Ghaziabad Aligarh Expressway Pvt Ltd (GAEPL) for their outstanding achievement while addressing the celebration ceremony of highest record for bituminous concrete laying .

It is noteworthy that the Ghaziabad-Aligarh section of National Highway (NH)-34 is spread over 118 km. It plays an important role as a transport link between the densely populated areas of Ghaziabad and Aligarh. The project passes through various towns and cities of Uttar Pradesh including Dadri, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Secunderabad, Bulandshahr and Khurja.

Emphasizing on the commitment towards sustainability and cost-effectiveness, Gadkari said that we have implemented the use of Cold Central Plant Recycling (CCPR) technology in the project. This innovative green technology involves the use of 90 percent milled material, which equates to approximately 2 million square meters of road surface. As a result, the consumption of raw material has been reduced by only 10 percent. By adopting this approach, we have significantly reduced fuel consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions. This is contributing significantly to reducing our carbon footprint.
