Kolkata/Kharagpur/Puri. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express train on Thursday. He will flag off this train from Puri station at one o’clock in the day through video conferencing. On this occasion, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav himself will be present at Puri station. On the day of inauguration, this train will open from Puri to Howrah with number 02896. On the day of inauguration, the train will reach Howrah station at 10.20 pm. This train will run six days a week except Thursday. It will be in regular operation from May 20. According to the information received from South Eastern Railway, 22895 Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express will leave Howrah at 6.10 am and reach Puri at 12.35 pm the same day. In the return direction, 22896 Puri – Howrah Vande Bharat Express will depart Puri at 1.50 pm and reach Howrah at 8.30 pm.

This 16-coach train will stop at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road stations between Howrah and Puri. With the commencement of this train, the tourists of Bengal and the devotees going to Puri will be greatly benefited. At present the fastest train on Howrah – Puri route is Howrah – Puri Shatabdi. This train takes 7 hours 35 minutes to reach Puri from Howrah, but Vande Bharat will complete its journey in 6 hours 25 minutes. According to railway sources, there are a total of 16 coaches in this luxury train. Of these, 14 are economy AC chaircars and 2 are executive (executive) chaircars. In a press conference on Wednesday, DRM of Kharagpur division Mohammad Shujaat Hashmi told that the fare of executive chair car from Howrah to Puri is Rs 2400 including catering. 2245 without food is Rs. The return fare is Rs.2595 and Rs.2245 (without food) respectively. In case of economy chair car, the fare including food is Rs.1245. 1125 without catering. On the way back it is Rs 1410 and Rs 1125 (without food) respectively.
