The Governor-cum-Chancellor of Bihar has approved the Ordinance and Regulation for the proposed four-year undergraduate program under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). Under this, semester wise admission process and free structure have been fixed in the courses. According to the ordinance, the total common fee for all the eight semesters of the four-year undergraduate course is Rs 16,290. There are 18 types of charges in this. Apart from this, some other fees have also been fixed.
Admission will be given on the basis of plus two marks
According to the ordinance issued on Wednesday, for the current academic session 2023-24, admission in all universities including Patna University will be given on the basis of plus two marks. Apart from this, admission in the first semester of the graduate program for the next academic session will be done on an integrated basis on the basis of marks obtained by the student in the Ten Plus Two level or Common Admission Entrance Test. The Vice Chancellor will be able to take a decision in this matter. The Ordinance and Regulation issued on Tuesday is for the admission process and fee structure for the academic session 2023-24. The eligibility for Bachelor’s program is intermediate pass from Bihar Board and its equivalent National and State Board.
Fee structure in two parts
According to the ordinance, there are two parts of the fee. The first part includes Admission Fee, Tuition Fee and Cultural/Tarang Fee. The admission fee is Rs 350 in the first semester and Rs 250-250 for the remaining seven semesters. The tuition fee for each semester has been kept at Rs 600-600. The cultural wave fee for each semester has been fixed at Rs 25-25. In this way, in the first part of the fee, the fee is fixed at Rs 975 in the first semester and Rs 875 for each of the remaining seven semesters.
In the second part of fees, there are fifteen types of fees. Which includes library, electricity fee, environment protection fee, identity card, building maintenance, student welfare, uniform fee, magazine fund etc. In the first session, this total fee is Rs 1280 and in the remaining seven semesters, this fee is fixed at Rs 1130-1130. In this way, the total general fee for the first semester has been fixed at Rs.2255 and for each of the remaining seven semesters, this fee has been fixed at Rs.2005-2005.

This fee will be charged separately
Apart from this fee, separate lab fee is fixed at Rs 600 per semester. This fee will be taken only from the students of Science, Geography, Psychology, Home Science and Sangi. Apart from this, the registration fee of each student has been fixed at Rs.600 and per semester examination fee at Rs.600. The fee for UG Certificate, UG Diploma, UG Degree, UG Degree Honors with Research has been fixed at Rs 600 each. This four year undergraduate course is being started from the current academic session in all streams. Seats will also be reserved in the course.
