10 kg IED and weapons recovered from terrorist hideout in Poonch

Poonch, May 18 (Hindustan Times). Security forces on Thursday busted and destroyed a terrorist hideout in Mendhar area of ​​Poonch district. A large quantity of IEDs and weapons were recovered by the security forces from here. The bomb disposal squad defused the explosive in time. Security forces have launched a search operation in the surrounding areas.

Acting on information about a terrorist hideout in Lower Kasbalari area of ​​Mendhar, a joint team of Army’s 39 Rashtriya Rifles and police along with sniffer dogs launched a search operation in the area, a police official said. During this, ten kg explosive IED, one Chinese pistol, grenade, two detonators were recovered. The explosive was safely defused by the bomb disposal squad.

Security forces have launched a search operation in the surrounding areas. During the search operation, all the routes to and from have been closed. Mendhar station in-charge Sajjad Ahmed said that 10 kg explosive IED was recovered. It was destroyed in the presence of the village sarpanch and other prominent persons of the area, he said.
