Lucknow. Former state cabinet minister, Bahubali leader Pandit Harishankar Tiwari has passed away. He was a continuous MLA from Chillupar assembly. Pandit Harishankar Tiwari, considered to be a pole of Purvanchal politics for more than two decades, breathed his last on Tuesday evening at around 7.30 pm at his residence in Gorakhpur. As soon as the information about the death of Pandit Harishankar Tiwari was received, hundreds of his supporters ran towards the house. Thousands of supporters have gathered at Gorakhpur Hata. Harishankar Tiwari is fondly called as Babuji. In the history of politics of Gorakhpur, Tiwari, who is heard in thousands of stories and stories, remained MLA from 1985 to 2007. In 1985, he entered the election field as an independent candidate and did not look back. Kept going to assembly continuously. Although the political parties changed a lot. Won elections thrice on Congress ticket. In the 2007 elections to the Legislative Assembly, the BSP fielded Rajesh Tripathi as its candidate.
