After almost a decade and a half in Bihar, the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department has amended the land and flat registry rules. Additional Chief Secretary KK Pathak has issued its gazette on Monday. Under this, all district and mufassil sub-registrars have been ordered to implement the Bihar Registration (Amendment) Rules 2023. Under this, the documents that will be prepared for the land and flat will remain in the format of the model deed fixed by the government. Earlier, the scribes used to prepare documents according to their own language. The department has banned this under the amended rules.
Manipulation in the land registry will stop
It has been said in the gazette that the format of any document prepared by the accountant, lawyer or Mukhtar for the land registry will remain according to the model deed. Apart from this, some words have been deleted while amending the Bihar Registration Rules, 2008. In the order issued by the Additional Chief Secretary, all district and mufassil sub-registrars have been instructed to implement it strictly. It is being told that by preparing the land registry paper under the format of the model deed, there will be a complete stop on the rigging in the land registry. With this, both the buyer and the seller of the land will not have to face any hassle.

no registry without aadhaar
To bring transparency in the land registry, now Aadhaar has been linked to it. Buying and selling of land will not be possible without the Aadhaar numbers of the buyer and seller. Along with this, earlier a witness was required in the land registry. Now there will be no need of witness in this. This has brought great relief to the buyers and sellers.
