Lucknow : The Defense Studies Department of Lucknow University in the capital has included many more new topics in the BA sixth semester syllabus. Now students will also read about the Bhopal gas tragedy in 1984 and the Balakot air strike in February 2019 in their course. It was approved in the Board of Studies meeting held on Friday while including it in the course as a case study.

Defense Studies Coordinator Dr. OP Shukla told that this time Pulwama attack, India’s surgical strike as well as Bhopal gas tragedy, Bala Kot air strike and Indian Ocean earthquake and Tsunami etc. have also been made part of the course. These will remain in the form of a case study and will get the prescribed 20 marks.

Masters students will study about new military technology weapon

Along with this, in the Science and Technology in War paper in the fourth semester of post graduation, the students were given the role of chemical and biological technology and its relationship with the army, in the fourth unit they were given new military technology and new conventional weapons. Will be told.

Now admission in PhD will be done by new rules

At the same time, the university administration has prepared a revised PhD ordinance. It has been made under the National Education Policy 2020 under the rules of UGC. Now according to the new ordinance, admissions will be taken in the session 2023-24. It will soon be presented before the PhD Ordinance Committee. After that it will be implemented after getting it passed in the next working council meeting.

This time admission in PhD is likely to start in August

After which the admission process for the new session will start. At present, the admission cell is planning to start admission for PhD session 2023-24 in the month of August. Important changes have been made in the amended ordinance. Candidates will be given a chance to join the admission process after four years of graduation and one year of post graduation or after getting more than 75 percent marks in four years of graduation. In the ordinance, Divyangs will be given a chance of ten years to complete PhD.
