The ongoing hearing in the Patna High Court on the election petition challenging the election of Law Minister Shamim Ahmed in the Bihar government will continue. This election petition has been filed by Shyam Bihari Prasad, which is listed for hearing in the single bench of Justice Navneet Kumar Pandey. However, to dismiss it, Minister Shamim Ahmed has also filed a petition. After listening to the arguments of both the sides, the court has rejected the petition of the minister. On the other hand, the court has rejected the petition challenging the election of State Forest and Environment Minister Tej Pratap Yadav.

The petition challenging the election of minister Shamim Ahmed was heard in a single bench of Navneet Kumar Pandey. In the hearing, senior advocate SD Sanjay, on behalf of the petitioner, told the court that at the time of filing nomination papers, two criminal cases were pending against Minister Shamim Ahmed, whose information he has given to his political party ie RJD, in which Raxaul police station was involved. The final form has been filed in the case, which was also accepted by the court. The court has fixed the date on May 18 for hearing on settlement of issues to decide the issues in this case.

Election petition filed against Minister Tej Pratap withdrawn

On the other hand, petitioner Vijay Kumar Yadav on Monday withdrew the election petition challenging the election of RJD supremo and state government minister Tej Pratap Yadav from Hasanpur assembly constituency. Hearing on this election petition was going on in the single bench of Justice Sunil Kumar Panwar. Tej Pratap Yadav’s advocate Jagannath Singh said that the petitioner had filed this election petition citing Section 100 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 to declare Tej Pratap Yadav’s election invalid.
