Bihar Public Service Commission has released the syllabus and exam pattern for the selection of school teachers from class 1 to 12 for the government schools of Bihar. The Commission is now going to issue an advertisement in a few days, but that advertisement may be slightly less than the total vacancies of 1.78 lakh teachers announced by the Education Department.
STET has not been done in many subjects for ten years
Actually, there are many subjects of arts and language group, whose STET exam has not been held for the last ten years. In such a situation, the intention of the government is that first the State Level Eligibility Test (STET) should be conducted for such subjects. After that their advertisement should be removed. However, the final decision has not yet been taken on this.
Requisition of vacancies of plus two schools could not be delivered to BPSC
Sources reveal that due to this churning of the Education Department, the requisition for the vacancies of Plus Two schools could not be sent to the Bihar Public Service Commission. While the requisition of primary-middle vacancies has been sent to Bihar Public Service Commission. Its notification can also be issued soon.
STET can be conducted in these subjects
It is the intention of the government that the subjects for which STET has not been conducted after 2012, their appointments should be made after conducting STET. In the year 2012 itself, STET was conducted for arts group subjects along with language subjects and science. Obviously, STET can be conducted in History, Geography, Political Science, Geography, Home Science, Psychology, Philosophy and Language subjects etc.

More than 50 percent vacancies in secondary schools are for language subjects
In secondary schools, out of total 33186, more than 50 percent about 16641 vacancies are related to language subjects. At the same time, out of total 57618 vacancies of higher secondary, 18.51 percent 10669 posts are related to languages. In this, the number of teachers of Bihar’s regional languages Magahi, Maithili, Bhojpuri and Bengali is 111.
