Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the construction work of Patna Collectorate building on Saturday. During the inspection, he instructed the officials to complete the construction work of the new collectorate building at the earliest. On completion of the new Collectorate building, all the offices of the district administration will be under one roof. This will also provide a lot of convenience to the people and they will be able to provide service more easily. This new collectorate building is being constructed in a much better way, which will be earthquake resistant and will also be environment friendly. The Ganga river in the north of this collectorate building complex and Gandhi Maidan in the south will make its view even more picturesque.

39 departments will operate in the main building

During the inspection, Kumar Ravi, Secretary, Building Construction Department, gave detailed information to the Chief Minister regarding the progress of the construction work. He informed about the various parts being constructed under the new Collectorate building. 39 departments will operate in the main building. All departments will have separate entrance. Apart from the basement and ground floor of the collectorate, there will be five floors. There will be about 205 open parking and 240 basement parking facilities in this complex.

Collectorate building will be ready by March next year

Patna Divisional Commissioner Kumar Ravi also reviewed the progress of the work by inspecting the site regarding the construction of the new collectorate building. He said that this building, based on high-tech and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including earthquake resistance, would be an important center in the state capital after its construction. This will work as a one-stop solution for the residents of the district. The time for completion of the construction work of the collectorate is June 2024, but the residents of the district will get this gift before the scheduled time. Its construction work will be completed by March next year. All efforts are being made for this. All the offices of the district administration will be located under one roof. This will further strengthen the work culture. He said that this complex located on the banks of the river Ganges would be an excellent example of architecture. The construction work of the new Collectorate building is going on fast. He instructed Gautam Kumar, Executive Engineer of the Building Construction Department, to complete the construction work as per the floorwise timeline.

The new collectorate building will have five floors apart from the basement and ground floor. The cell of the District Magistrate will be on the top floor. In addition to the Central Collectorate building, there will be two more blocks in the premises – SDO and DDC Block and District Board Office and Multipurpose Building Block. SDO VDDC block will have four floors apart from basement and ground floor. Offices of 39 departments will be there in the new building. There will be separate entrance for all the departments. It is noteworthy that the area of ​​the plot is 43,454 square meters. The total built-up area is 38,812 square metres. About 153.53 crores will be spent on the construction. DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, DDC Tanay Sultania, Special Officer Anubhajan Manoranjan Kumar and other officers were present during the inspection.
