Leopard roaming around as death in Gujarat, killed a two-year-old child, attacked for the third time in a week

In Amreli in Gujarat, a leopard is roaming around the city making people its prey. Not only this, the leopard is also attacking the people of the city and their houses. The latest case is of Katar village, where a leopard attacked and killed a two-year-old boy. This is the third incident of attack on children of wild animals in Amreli in a week.

The leopard attacked and killed the child: Last Saturday late night, a leopard attacked children in a hut located in Katar village under Rajula range forest. The leopard attacked when the child was sleeping with his family members in the hut. Regarding the incident, the forest officer told that the leopard caught the child by his neck and dragged him to the nearby bushes. When the relatives of the child raised an alarm, the leopard left him and ran away.

All the efforts to catch the leopard are proving insufficient: The forest officer said that the child had serious neck injuries after the leopard attack. In a hurry, he was taken to a government hospital in nearby Mahuva town, where doctors declared him brought dead. At the same time, the forest officer told that the forest department has installed cages in the area to catch the man-eating leopard, but till now they are out of reach.

Last Monday, a three-year-old boy was killed in a leopard attack in Karjala village of Savarkundla taluk of the district.
