Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Babulal Marandi has written a letter to the head of the state, Hemant Soren. Jharkhand BJP Legislature Party leader Shri Marandi has said that the Central Investigation Agency CBI Or an inquiry commission should be formed under the chairmanship of a High Court judge to investigate the land scams that have taken place in the state so far. He has also alleged a flaw in the government system in the maintenance of government documents.
Buying and selling of land by manipulating documents
Babulal Marandi has said that not only the capital Ranchi, many such land mafia are active in many districts of the state, who have bought and sold land by manipulating documents. There is a syndicate of unscrupulous people, who are doing manipulation and forgery, due to which Jharkhand is being brought into disrepute.

Babulal Marandi in his letter has termed the land mafia as vicious like Harshad Mehta and Abdul Karim Telgi. It has been said that the way Harshad Mehta and Abdul Karim Telgi earned crores of rupees by forgery, in the same way land mafia and brokers are active in Jharkhand. These people do fraud. They have kept goons. They also have the cooperation of the police and the administration. Some people sitting in power are also helping them.
The land mafia already manages the system
In a letter written to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Babulal has said that these land mafia are so expert in their work that in the land which has to be grabbed, apart from the officers from the bottom to the top, they collude with goons, brokers, musclemen. In such a situation, no common man, especially tribals, can do anything to save their land, because the whole system is already managed.
It is not possible for ED to investigate land scams of Jharkhand
Mr. Marandi said that there are hundreds of such examples in Jharkhand, where land mafias have sent those who oppose the occupation of land to jail. He said that in Giridih, the land mafia sent a protesting person to jail under Section 107 and kept him in jail for four months. He has further written that it is not possible for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) alone to fully expose this land scam in Jharkhand.
