New Delhi, May 14 (Hindustan Times). Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate a training program on legislative drafting in the capital on Monday i.e. 15th May. The event is being organized by the Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) in association with the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracy (PRIDE).

The objective of the program is to create an understanding of the principles and practices of legislative drafting among officers of Parliament, State Legislatures, various Ministries, statutory bodies and other government departments.

Legislative drafting has a major impact on the interpretation of policies and regulations enacted for the welfare of the society and the state. Since legislative drafters are responsible for making laws that promote democratic governance and make the rule of law effective, it is necessary that they are trained from time to time to sharpen their skills. This training program will help in their capacity building.
