Ranchi University Examination Board, after brainstorming for several hours, decided that for the graduate students of session 2017-20 and session 2018-21, the examination will be taken for giving marks in generic two. For the convenience of the students, the exam can be taken online. As per the university rules, the student will have to appear in the examination to get the marks.
In the meeting chaired by Dr. Ajit Kumar Sinha, the members said that according to the University Act, there is no provision to give average marking in the said letter to the student without appearing in the examination. The UGC had given exemption for some time during the Corona period, but now it has been withdrawn. It was said in the meeting that conducting special examination will be mandatory for the future of the students.
The university can take a decision on whether the mode of examination will be online or offline. Apart from this, two individual cases were also settled. All the members were present in the meeting. It may be noted that the students of the said session had earlier agreed to give special examination, but later started demanding average marking without giving the examination.
