Ranchi land scam: Former Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan is hiding many things, inquiry is being done on this basis

Ranchi’s former deputy commissioner Chhavi Ranjan, arrested in the case of buying and selling land by forging documents, is hiding information. Presently, he is being interrogated in the light of documents and data obtained from digital devices. Here, on the demand of ED, the PMLA court has given remand for four more days for questioning Chhavi Ranjan. On behalf of ED, the court was told that there are still many points of investigation, on which inquiries are to be made.

That’s why six more days remand should be given. After the hearing, the court has given a four-day remand to the ED for questioning Chhavi Ranjan. Earlier, after the end of six days of questioning, the ED presented Chhavi Ranjan in the PML court on Friday. Chhavi Ranjan was arrested by ED on May 7 and sent to jail in judicial custody. It is alleged that while being the Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi from the year 2020 to 2022, Chhavi Ranjan helped non-governmental people for the purpose of personal gain.

He helped businessman Vishnu Agarwal to buy land on the basis of banned land and forged documents. For this he wrote reports in favor of Vishnu Agarwal. While working as Deputy Commissioner, he conspired with Prem Prakash and businessman Amit Agarwal and helped Pradeep Bagchi in the purchase and sale of land occupied by the army.

As a result, this land was sold in the name of Jagat Bandhu Tea Estate. This company is related to Kolkata businessman Amit Agarwal. Some new facts have been found during ongoing investigation in connection with purchase and sale of land on the basis of fake documents. On the basis of these facts, some information has been sought from various departments. The inquiry is also going on on the basis of the data of the documents and digital devices found during the raid.

Apart from this, the people involved in the purchase and sale of land are also being questioned on the basis of the information received during the interrogation. Chhavi Ranjan’s involvement has been found in the sale and purchase of Army occupied land, Cheshire Home and Bajra Mauza of Hehal zone.
