Islamabad : After the arrest of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the corruption case, the Supreme Court said on Thursday that present him (Imran Khan) before us within an hour. Describing the arrest of the former Prime Minister as illegal, the Supreme Court said that the decision on the matter of Khan’s arrest would be taken today itself. The court also said that today is the time to draw a line and set an example for the future.

According to media reports, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed NAB to produce former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the court within an hour. The court said that this is the time to set an example for the future. He said that he will not allow Pakistan to become a jail. The investigating agency NAB has ruined the country a lot.

Imran Khan was dramatically arrested on Tuesday

On Tuesday, on the orders of Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB), personnel of the paramilitary force entered a room of the Islamabad High Court and arrested Imran Khan. On Wednesday, an anti-corruption court sent him to remand for eight days. The dramatic arrest of Pakistan’s former prime minister Khan from a court complex in a corruption case has sparked widespread violence across the country, leaving at least eight people dead and clashes between protesters and law enforcement agencies. Around 300 other people were injured.

On the other hand, there is also news that Shah Mehmood Qureshi, a close aide of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister, was arrested by the police on Thursday on charges of inciting violent protests and endangering peace amid violence in Pakistan. At least eight people have died in this violence and the army had to be called in the country’s capital and three provinces. In a video shared on Twitter by Qureshi’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, he is seen being escorted by some men in plain clothes and he is seen walking towards party workers before leaving the place of detention. He is seen waving his hands.
