Godda MP Dr Nishikant Dubey gets relief from High Court in Jharkhand Secretariat siege case, ban on pest action

Godda MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey, accused in the secretariat siege case in Ranchi on April 11, has got relief from the Jharkhand High Court. The court of Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi of the High Court, after hearing the criminal quashing petition of the applicant, prohibited taking pest action. The court fixed the date of July 12 for the hearing of the case. Earlier, advocate Prashant Pallav and advocate Partha Jalan appeared on behalf of the applicant.

Keeping his side, he said that under his democratic rights, he had participated in the gherao program in a peaceful manner, but the police has registered an FIR and made him an accused. He urged to quash the FIR. It is noteworthy that the applicant Dr. MP Nishikant Dubey has filed a criminal quashing petition and challenged the FIR registered under the case number-107/2023 in Dhurva police station.

Apart from Nishikant Dubey, Union Minister Arjun Munda, Chatra MP Sunil Kumar Singh, MP Sameer Oraon, former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das, Babulal Marandi, MLA Amit Mandal and 41 named and many unknown people have been made accused in the case. The secretariat gherao program was organized by the BJP.
